Welcome to The U.S.A South Dakota

Welcome to The U.S.A. South Dakota, a short nonfictional book by Ann Hendricks describes all the tourist destinations in South Dakota. One of the facts I learned was that Mount Rushmore is 60 feet high. Another thing I learned is that Mount Rushmore cost less than $1,000,000. Also, I learned they have tons of native reserves out there too!  Also, the state capital is Pierri. The most interesting fact is that there is a palace with huge pictures outside its walls made of corn. How does that even work?

I had some questions and thoughts on this book. My thoughts were how did they only pay a million dollars to make Mount Rushmore. You would think it would be more. Also, how did it only take 14 years to carve it out I would think it would take 20 to 30 years. I would recommend this book to you if you want to go to South Dakota.
