The Man In the Red Bandana

The Man in the Red Bandana a short picture book by Honer Crother Fagon, describes a heroic act on 9-11 who saved many lives. The main character Wells is a young man who works in the WTC in New York. Wells was a volunteer firefighter who wanted to keep everybody in the Twin Towers on 9-11. However, he couldn't see anyone because the smoke was so bad. So, he found the stairs and yelled I found the stairs. Then he started leading people to safety. In the end, Wells made three trips but on his way back up he died when the building collapsed on him.

I learned a valuable lesson from this book and I'm going to share it with you. The lesson I learned was to save others before yourself. Just like Wells took three trips in the WTC. Not only did he risk him getting lung cancer he also risked dying instantly. Not only was he a hero he was a legend on 9-11 a day no one will ever forget.
