“The Popsicle Stick Bridge,”

“The Popsicle Stick Bridge,” by Marlane Sebasta Serea, a short story, tells about how a girl comes to a problem where all the girl partners are taken. Cassandra is the main character. Her best friend moved away and she didn’t have a girl partner for their class’s project, called the popsicle bridge building. The goal is to have the most weight on their bridge. All she wanted to do was win. However, she didn’t like her partner. She thought she would lose because he was a bad partner. So she didn’t work as hard as she usually does because she was upset. Then at recess, Robert, her partner, went to save worms with Cassandra. In the end, their bridge ended up winning and breaking the class record for most weights on one bridge.

Reading this story is interesting. However, I had some good questions and thoughts. I loved the characters. For example, Cassandra was a doubtful character, that's why Robert was my Robert favorite character He was really funny and goofy. Also, I love how he accepts people. Like I said I had some questions. One of my questions was why Robert went to pick up worms with Cassondra when he could be playing with his friends. learned a great lesson in this story. The lesson I learned was you have to be accepting to everyone because you don’t know what they are like. This story was one of the best stories I have ever read.
